Default When life is gone

When life is gone
with your last breath diminished
you left this earth
with things unfinished

Death does not ask
nor does it wait
it takes who it wants
and is your fate

Torn from our lives
so abrupt and so cold
all you have left
are memories to hold

We remember you face
your sweet precious smile
you absence will haunt us
mile after mile

Life isn't forever
as god did intend
he takes his angel
leaving broken hearts to mend

When heaven awaits
and dreams are surrendered
god opens the gates
for a soul that's remembered.
