Jeff Conaway, Grease's movie legend, has died at the age of 60. He was found unconscious in his home 2 weeks ago and has been in a coma ever since. He had become addicted to cocaine, painkillers and booze but Conaway had also been suffering from pneumonia and sepis and was recovering from a recent surgery to ease back pain. His family agreed to take him off life support in the Los Angeles hospital on 26th May 2011 according to Jeff's manager Phil Brock, and he died on Friday 27th May 2011 surrounded by his family. Brock later said "We lost someone we loved. We tried to guide him through his struggles."
In the 1978 hit musical he played Kenickie, the wisecracking T-bird and side kick to John Travolta's character, Danny Zuko. John Travolta has said "He was a wonderful and decent man. We will miss him." Tributes have been flooding in for Jeff, who is the first of the main Grease stars to die. He also played Bobby Wheeler in the popular comedy series Taxi.
In a January interview Jeff said "I got a lot of love from people. It makes the pain worthwhile."
