Gold Inheritance
Hi all. I have just received an inheritance and want to know how to invest it, but I'm new to investing and can't make sense out of this economy. One of my family members passed away a couple of months ago and left me a fairly substantial inheritance of around 25k. I've been spending the past few weeks mourning and now am trying to figure out where I go from here.
Everywhere I look, I see interest rates declining or at very low levels, stock prices have plummeted over the last few years and similar nonsense all around. While I have found plenty of advice around the internet on how to invest, all of it seems to have been written before the current market collapse.
I have been told that putting your money into good old fashioned investments like Gold Sovereigns and land is the safest bet at the moment. Even with a slightly shrinking economy the enormity of the government bailouts/stimuli etc will have a slight long term inflationary effect coupled with the phenomena of people being cash desperate and looking to sell off some land, property and gold. I really like the idea of storing my inheritance in gold sovereign coins.
An help or advise would be very much appreciated.
